A Japanese comedian inspired by Charlie Chaplin - Feb 06, 2007
Hikari Ota is the Japanese comedian who stars as the prime minister in a popular TV show making a parody of his childhood´s hero Charlie Chaplin. He said he was inspired by "The Great Dictator", one of Chaplin´s masterpieces. "I can speak out about politics on TV more than a politician can," Ota said. "I wouldn't be able to do that if I become a politician. I want to do something like what Chaplin did."
